Trash Can Stop Pavilion is a re-created analogue of the unidirectional urban mode.

Most of time, trash-can space is a kind of dead-end of the city, where stigmatize deeply in your mind as the dirty and dark side of the world. This urban miniature implies the bigger city system in general whose production and consumption are following the desires of urban life without considering matters’ collaboration . The isolated and fragmented urban process of both production and consumption are not designed as the reciprocal network of substances. Instead their existence to each other is for solving the problems one another. Of course recycling trash can contribute to a kind of sustainability for saving resources, but in this fashion the trash is still constantly produced from the endless motive forces as the symbol of consumption whose overall one-way generation process has never been changed. This is not sustainability. Trash can stop pavilion tried to bring the meaning for both trash exposition and participation in the public domain of city by re-constructing the new and reciprocal material mode between trash, urban identity and individual identity, trash identity, consumption identity, their public interaction. Its internal operative network as a new type of trash can is gonna produce another physical social network by its porous formation in the city based on public trash throwing and identity exchanging: what do you like to eat/drink/use are clearly exhibited from both of the translucent interiority of trashcan and interaction of throwing and receiving. Its orientation has similar spatial effects to multiple dimension in the city that welcome all directions’ people flowing for trash throwing. No matter you are child or grown individual, you can always find a trash hole positioned at different urban space for your throwing. When you are standing at different spot within the trash space the new spatial effect and materiality are constantly and automatically discovered as people-trash interaction can participate the adaptive designing process of the new interiority of the knot structure. The Knot from weaving process may be the purest or the most prototypical architectural event. In Trash can stop pavilion case, the purest formation with new trash can meaning in the city may perform as the purest architecture whose effects and meaning with this knot form are irreducible.
